The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi during the book release of ‘Eleven volumes of manuscript with commentaries by twenty one scholars on shlokas of Bhagavad Gita’ published by J&K Dharmarth Trust and Motilal Banarasidass Publishing House, commended the role and contribution of former Governor and Chairman Dharmarth Trust, Dr. Karan Singh towards development of Hindu religion and humanity in India. He also extended warm greetings to Dr. Karan Singh on the occasion of his landmark 90th birthday.The Prime Minister said that Dr. Karan Singh has dedicated his life towards preserving and imparting knowledge for the nation which has been the legacy of his family and ancestors especially in Jammu & Kashmir which is the pride of India. The Prime Minister praised the contribution of Dr. Karan Singh for passing on this knowledge of traditions, culture and religions to the new younger generations of the India and also commended the Dharmarth Trust for preserving Hindu religion, knowledge and Temples. The Prime Minister also added that the legacy and contribution of the Dogra Royal Family beginning from Maharaja Gulab Singh must continue and be kept alive by the future generations with the guidance and inspiration of Dr. Karan Singh.
After attending the book release event held at the Prime Minister’s residence in New Delhi, Vikramaditya Singh, Trustee, J&K Dharmarth Trust said that the recognition and praise by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of the Dogra Maharajas and Dharmarth Trust is a great honour and his appreciation for Dr. Karan Singh’s contribution is a matter of immense pride for Jammu & Kashmir, especially all Dogras.
The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi along with Lt. Governor J&K, Manoj Sinha and Dr. Karan Singh released the publication ‘Eleven volumes of manuscript with commentaries by twenty one scholars on shlokas of Bhagavad Gita’ which was commissioned by Maharaja Ranbir Singh 150 years ago and completed in 2021 under the personal guidance of Dr. Karan Singh, Chairman Dharmarth Trust. Others present at the event included Jyotiraditya Scindia, Vikramaditya Singh, Ajatshatru Singh, Martand Singh, Sangeeta Jaitley and Chitrangada Raje Singh
